There were days when men would write books on parchment. Books, in those days, were not published but were written painstakingly by hand. In those days only a hand counted number of copies for a book were created, so books were treasures well worth fighting for.

Then came the printing press which revolutionized the book market. Education became a mass market commodity and reading became a fashionable hobby for the literate.

We have come a long way since then. The book market is about to get revolutionized yet again. This time it is the electronic media which is about to change reading habits for ever. Books no longer need to be bought, held and read. Or smelt, felt, and cuddled. Books are paperless now and can be stored, not in libraries, but in eraser sized drives.
